Production

Basic Policies

  • From a knowledge-intensive industry to a creative industry

Based on this basic policy, we aim to become a world-class software engineering group.

Specific Measures

1. Major Reform of ACTUM

Process definition
Production: 5 processes (old) → 3 processes (new)
Testing: 5 processes (old) → 3 processes (new)
Stipulations for the quantification of production and testing, progress standards (major changes to cost definitions)

2. Relation to Various Certifications

ACTUM is evolving to greatly surpass CMMI Level 5.
We are beginning to transcend the inadequacies of the International Organization for Standardization’s quality regulations.

3. Competence Assessment Based on Software Development Productivity and Quality (Including Residual Quality Bugs)

Improvements to the evaluation system based on creativity (improvement and innovation), knowledge (speed of knowledge acquisition), etc.

4. A Total Solution Orientation

The top-level process of the major reform in process definition is designed such that the target of software development is all-encompassing and fulfills limiting conditions. For example, when determining a target and systemizing, we apply quality, hardware conditions, basic software (OS, language, various utilities, DB, etc.), etc. to meet the requirements necessary to solve unsolvable input-output and processing methods.

5. Themes That Require Creativity in Software Development

We are beginning to work on unresolved themes with pre-designated talent within the Production Department.

6. Finding and Evaluating Employees

  1. 1. General Employees
    Same as previous evaluation
  2. 2. Knowledge-Type Employees (Employees Who Use Their Expertise to Do Their Jobs)
Same as previous evaluation, determined by speed and subject matter knowledge comprehension.
  3. 3.
Creative-Type Employees (Employees with Creative Ability Associated with the Change in Aim from a Knowledge-Intensive to a Creative Industry)
Education is almost impossible. All that can be done is provide an environment that fosters creativity.
Creative employees will iron out themes* until others can understand them and work with others to solve problems.
Creative employees use their creativity to solve problems with the cooperation of knowledge-type employees.
    • * Evaluation is divided into two levels for themes created by creative employees
1st level: Evaluate highly in a predetermined evaluation system.
2nd level: When value is produced, the Board of Directors will decide on the evaluation.
